Abstract

A community refers to a group of people that identify themselves with common interests. Community computing supports humancomputer interaction among neighbors and bridges the digital divide. It is a grassroots model that seeks to empower people in marginalized communities with basic computer skills. It has become a major research area in human-computer interaction. This
paper provides a brief introduction on community computing.
